NEW SELLER REMINDERS: don’t be me😜

Nothing solidifies the saying: “You learn something new every day” than being a new Amazon Seller🧐

I found an item yesterday that I felt was a good deal and I listed it with auto submission to PC. Later I proceeded to order it. No, I did not have the items waiting in a checkout box, no I did not check to see if there was full availability of my product at this retailer or any other retailers. I am beating myself up for forgetting this critical step.

I initially submitted to sell 32 items (predicted monthly sale was 64). Yes, it did make me think something was wrong with that, but alas I chose to follow our teachings to multiply by 50 or 60% for new buyer so I chose 32. When I went to place my order, it showed only 8 items available, by the time I had added them to my cart, they were down to 4 and I panic bought them. It got worse. My retailer was Walmart. Multiple Walmarts all over Florida are sold out, even in other states. They either show out of stock or only 1 or 2, but are out of stock when moved to checkout. Other retailers are also out of stock or 2.5 times the price, so I am unable to procure my product number submitted. I stated I would list and send 32 to prep center and I have 4.😧

All of this to remind new sellers to not do what I did. If you feel something isn’t right, move on. My time trying to then source my product could have been utilized in a much more profitable way. Don’t forget critical steps such as checking availability of product, put it in checkout on hold til you get your check marks, be timely in ordering once approved, and check for restock availability. This was a Halloween DVD and I was really just listing to get some products on my list and then once sold, delete later. It was a good learning experience, and I hope to not repeat it.🤦‍♀️
