I keep getting notifications that inventory needs Amazon barcodes after march 31st.
Will this be done automatically at prep center, and what happens to inventory sent before march 31st, will it be still able to sell?

      Thank you!

      • The prep center already puts amazon barcodes on our products for FBA… Amazon is saying sellers will no longer be able to use manufacturer barcodes (UPC). We must use amazons barcodes (FNSKU)… For tracking …

        • @bobbyrachal_102265 The prep center currently creates FNSKUs that are the same as the ASIN which results in your inventory being commingled with all inventory of the same ASIN. Amazon is discontinuing the option to commingle inventory. All shipments starting March 31st will have to use Amazon Barcode stickers (unique FNSKUs) rather than relying on the manufacturer’s barcode. The prep center is going to have to change its procedures to comply with this. Our existing inventory does not have to be removed, stickered and sent back in (thankfully – who wants that additional hassle and expense?). It will take some adjustment but I think this is a good change.

          • @shirleybeasley_102252 That is 100% INCORRECT!! Where did you ever hear anything about that?! The prep center creates a unique FNSKU from within your Amazon account. We don’t need to make any changes because this is what we already do! Never do we advise comingling!

          • @bobbyrachal_102265 Thank you Bobby!!😉

          • @shirleybeasley_102252 please refrain from sharing your “opinion” as to how the prep center works as your understanding is absolutely incorrect. As Melissa stated, the prep center creates plans from within each persons individual Amazon account. I have videos posted on youtube from EIGHT YEARS AGO talking about how no one should ever “co mingle” inventory. The prep center has NEVER comingled anything. The prep center does not need to make any changes to its technology or its current process. The prep center doesn’t have to change any procedure to comply with Amazon’s newest policy since the prep center has always used the process that Amazon is moving towards. Respectfully please do not post responses to comments when the information you are providing the community is 100% factually incorrect. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

            • I would never want to mislead anyone. I realize that those in charge of the prep center are on top of the changes that Amazon has announced regarding FNSKU labeling. However, every product I have listed through SpyRivals and sent to the prep center has the FNSKU equal to the ASIN. How is this unique to me? I had a customer return of the Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero Nintendo Switch video game. It does not have a FNSKU sticker on it (the package is intact). Only the LPN sticker (license plate number for a return). This is a unit that was sent in by the prep center. In the case of other video games, I had an existing listing (I was already selling before coming to IM). SpyRivals created another listing with a new SKU and the FNSKU equal to the ASIN. When the inventory was received at Amazon – let’s say it was 10 units – Amazon credited it to BOTH listings (SKUs) since it was for the same ASIN. It looked like I had 20 units in stock when I really only had 10. This created some repricer confusion. Once 10 units sold, the phantom units went away too. I was told that this double inventory/ghost unit situation happened because of commingling due to the FNSKU being the same as the ASIN. If that was incorrect information and Amazon created these ghost units in my inventory for some other unknown reason I apologize but this is why I thought that my inventory was commingled.
